This year I made my annual all vegan Thanksgiving dinner and it was a blast!  I suggest buying Cards Against Humanity to play at dinner parties.   It's a lot of fun-so raunchy and wrong- and everyone will be laughing the entire night!

Cards Against Humanity went on for hours.

My bff/sister!  I love this lady so much!

Vegan reese's peanut butter pumpkin cups...they are super easy to make!
Vegan cinnamon rolls - recipe at www.veganyumyum.com

Vegan cornbread from scratch.  I finished this off today.
Zuki loves company and snuggled with everyone!

Tofurkey and stuffing

my best friends! - Paula Rhodes and Charlie Bodin.  My brother is behind Paula.

Another staple item every Thanksgiving.  Green Bean Casserole

This was the next day.  I was happy.  Stephen was zonked out.

Best Week EVER!

I think I said I was thankful 50 times today because my heart is just filled with a sense of extreme gratitude.  Today I found out that a role I booked on a tv series is a lot bigger than I initially thought. - As in I'll be in a few episodes instead of one.   Talk about great news!  My brother is visiting this week- I haven't seen him since last Christmas...I miss him!  AND it's my favorite holiday....Thanksgiving!  It's like happiness overload.  On top of all of this, I have the BEST group of supportive loving friends that I've ever had in my life.  The ladies (and guys) I surround myself with are genuinely happy to hear about my successes and cheer me on.  They accept me for who I am and are loads of fun to be around.  Although I believe in being grateful year round...it's definitely the season to reflect on all we have and all we've done...all we want and everyone we love.  I have been truly blessed and feel so lucky.  Thank you Universe!

Thanksgiving is almost here!  And I am PUMPED to be making my annual Vegan Thanksgiving dinner.  My brother is coming to visit, which makes this upcoming week even better.  What's that?  You want to know what's on the menu...well, I'll tell ya!

-Tofurkey and stuffing
-apple sage sausage stuffing (I like to have two kinds of stuffing)
-pumpkin ravioli from scratch
-mashed potatoes and gravy
-cranberry sauce
-green bean casserole
-pumpkin cheesecake
pumpkin and peanut butter filled reese's cups
-mulled wine/ beer/ coffee/tea/water
-possibly some mini quiches
-cinnamon rolls
-fried avocado bites

YUM.  It's all made from scratch so I'll have a lot of work to do!  I did a test run of the pumpkin ravioli and the fried avocado last week and they were both sooo mouthwateringly good.

Here are some of the recipe plans:

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/tofu-turkey-i/Detail.aspx --> I make this every year...it's our staple item.

In other news, I just booked a role on the hit FX tv show, Justified!  WOO HOO!  I'll be playing the role of Teri, and if you don't already watch the show...you should start now because it's goooood.  xoxo
I'll be posting photos of  my Thanksgiving- and I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday, from the bottom of my heart. :) -cathy

Halloween goodness and catch up time

Whoa!  it's been a while since I've posted.  I've been terribly busy with acting, editing, and painting these days that I don't have much time to blog.  OR...when I do have time, I don't really know what to say. haha- I'm sure you bloggers out there know what that feels like.  Life's been great- I'm showing my paintings at Dysonna City Art Gallery for the month of November and the opening reception is tomorrow night.  I'll be showing my dancer paintings and a couple of silhouettes of women.  If you're in LA and have time in November...stop by and take a look!

What else...ah yes, I had a wonderful Halloween.  This year I dressed as a flapper. See photo below. :)  I am very proud of this costume, because like all of my others, I sewed it all by hand.  Damn I love Jo-Ann's fabrics.  :)  I also had the privilege to meet and work with some very talented guys in a band called XY Unlimited.  Their song, "Halloween" ,was released on itunes and I'm in the music video.  Watch it here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRO2reJbvfU  and leave a nice comment about the girl in the red dress ;) ;)

Here's my Halloween costume:

I also wrote a short film that I am producing - I am nervous and excited at the same time to get this idea out into the world.  I'll be editing the project and starring in it so it will feel good to have complete control over what it will look like.  I'll give one hint- there's a choreographer involved that will be helping me.  Speaking of filming....one of my besties, Paula Rhodes, and I made a lil comedic video called Vegan Zombies that I think you should watch.  Okay, so maybe we were tipsy when we made it...c'mon it was the 4th of July....but we had a blast!  Watch it here:  https://vimeo.com/52178118

So....what did you dress up as for Halloween?
